This is my entry for Rufftoon's [link] Avatar Contest. The challenge was to take her various (and all very awesome) Avatar drawings and color/manipulate them. When I couldn't decide between her "Loosen Up" and "Cactus Bar" drawings I just combined them both (which is why Aang, Katara and Toph are dancing in the front). Aang should get to have some fun too, right?

I had some fun with this one, and worked towards making the background work with the characters. Katara's face gave me trouble, but Iroh was easy and a lot of fun (hmm...Iroh being agreeable, makes sense).

So yeah, good times. Enough that it makes me want to color more of Rufftoon's work. Go check out her gallery if you haven't, she's great!

Oh, and some brushes were provided by [link] because they are some wonderful brushes.

I wish Season 3 would start...

The color blending is absolutely fantastic, and I really like the shades you used... esp the contrast of the bright purple 'drink umbrella' against Zhao's armor! :+fav:

Thanks! Adding a secondary lightsource with the blue Cactus Bar sign ended up being the right move. I like how it bounces off of Sokka's head. :)
