Part of the DA 30 Day Challenge found here: [link] and my tumblr: [link] this time on the topic of "Least Favorite Quest."

The finale of "The Final Straw." Really, Orsino. Really. One boss isn't enough, eh? Let's toss another one in because both sides need to be just as terrible or it won't work. BioWare. :sarcasm:

Oh, and yes, that's Malcolm's Honor staff. Hawke tortures Carver with it. Fun is had. :D

Originally, Orsino was going to be a Templar-side-only boss but FREAKING EXECUTIVE MEDDLING WANTED TWO BOSSES.

Even if it destroyed the validity of Orisino and turned him into a freaking hypocrite.

/sigh/

Yeah, the executive meddling aspect is the most disappointing. If they had still included his collusion with Quentin and given Hawke the opportunity for more of a...verbal confrontation than physical one, I would have been interested in that.

Orsino had a lot that was interesting about him and the way they quicken the pace of him falling apart is disappointing.

I always felt that his Templar ending made so much more sense. It didn't come out of the blue like it does with the Mage ending. He legitimately sounds like he's completely lost it. The conflict with him in the Mage ending was superfluous, and even the characters seemed to know it...

Plus, how much more awesome would it have been if you'd had a choice. Orsino had seemed so reasonable and intelligent, a guy you would enjoy knowing. If the killing him thing was a choice, if he apologized for his actions and Faced Death with Dignity, it would have been much more emotional than just "RAWR, I AM A BLOOD MAGE."

The only thing I thought when that fight began "PLEASE LET IT NOT BE AS HARD AS THE GOLEMS OF AMGARRAK"
