It's pretty much about the downfall of a utopian society built underneath the Atlantic Ocean in an alternate 1960. You play a young man named Jack, who survives an ocean plane crash. Seeking help in a nearby lighthouse, Jack finds the only way to get out (and possibly assistance) is to board a submersible. It takes him to the underwater city called Rapture, and lands him smack dab in the middle of a civil war between its genetically enhanced citizens.

There's way more to it than that, much of it told through audio diaries, but it's really fantastic. It's a great story about men giving up on their own philosophies when faced with extreme situations, greed, and even a bit of redemption.

It's for the Xbox360 and PC, and is pretty much classified as a first person shooter game with some role-playing game elements thrown in.

It quickly became one of my favorite games ever, and I tend to dislike any FPS game. Fantastic creepy atmosphere and art deco architecture.
